Hakka Noodles or Vegetable chow mein is another Indo-Chinese recipe which is a favorite among kids and adults. In this the boiled noodles are stir fried with vegetables and sauces. It is very simple to make and can be done in a few minutes time, if all the vegetables are cut and kept ready.
You will need
200 gms Hakka Noodles
3/4 cup Cabbage shredded
1/2 cup Bell peppers
1/2 cup Carrots shredded
1/4 cup sprouts (optional)
2 TBSP Oil/ghee + 1 tsp
1 TBSP Soya Sauce
1 TBSP Vinegar
1 TBSP Tomato Ketchup ( optional)
1 tsp Chilli sauce
Salt to tase
Method
In a pot, boil some water add 1 tsp of oil, when the water comes to a rolling boil add the noodles. When the noodles get cooked they rise up to the top.
Strain the noodles and keep aside.
In a wok add the oil and the pepper, cabbage and carrots. Stir fry the vegetable till cooked. Add the sprouts and mix well.
Now add the cooked noodles and all the sauces. Add salt to taste, keep in mind that the soya sauce already has salt, so add accordingly.
Mix well.
