Churros.....................Eggless, Easy and Yum

These fabulously crunchy & delicious Eggless Churros are one of the easiest desserts that can be easily made at home! All it takes is 30 minutes to make a batch of churros which is tossed along with cinnamon and sugar. Dunk them in a rich hot chocolate – or dulce de leche – sauce for a decadent dessert to die for.

Ingredients Churros

  • 1 cup of water

  • ¼ cup butter softened

  • 3 tbsp natural cane sugar

  • ¾ cup Bread flour/ All purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp finely ground flax seed

  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

  • 2 cups oil/ ghee for frying

Cinnamon Sugar

  • ½ cup sugar (not powdered)

  • 3 tbsp cinnamon powder

Method

  • Pour the water into a saucepan and then add the butter.

  • Add the cane sugar to this mixture and bring it to a boil. Mix in intervals to ensure that the sugar has dissolved.

  • When the mixture comes to a boil, take it off the heat and add all the flour and the flax seed powder at once.

  • Mix well until the mixture forms into a soft pliable dough.

  • Allow the dough to cool at room temperature.

  • When the dough has sufficiently cooled down, add vanilla extract and mix well until everything comes together.

  • Meanwhile, transfer the churros dough into a piping bag with a large tip. I used Star tip 7

  • Carefully pipe equal lines of churros onto the baking sheet. You can use scissors or a knife to cut into uniform sizes. Freeze the piped churros for 15minutes. This helps make crispier churros

  • In the meanwhile, add oil to the frying pan and allow it to warm up. the oil should not be too hot.

  • Gently drop the churros into the oil one at a time, carefully retaining the shape

  • Allow the churros to gain a golden-brown color and then take them out of the oil.

  • Drain onto a paper towel to remove the excess oil.

  • In a bowl add the sugar and cinnamon powder, mix well

  • Now toss the fried churros into the cinnamon sugar.

  • Say a little prayer and serve with Nutella, Whipped Cream, dulce de leche or Chocolate sauce.
