This is hands down the best mac and cheese we have ever eaten! In fact, we love it!!!
I don't make this very often but whenever I do its loaded with L-O-V-E, C-H-E-E-S-E & C-A-L-O-R-I-E-S
You will need
8 ounces elbow macaroni
3 TBSP butter
3 TBSP all-purpose flour
1 TBSP Mustard ground or paste
1/2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon salt or to taste
2 cups of milk
3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Method:
Boil water in a saucepan, once it comes to a rolling boil, add the macaroni and cook till soft.
Strain in a colander. Rinse under cold water and drain well.
Melt butter in the same saucepan on medium heat. Add with flour and cook for 2 mins
Add in the mustard and black pepper, stir well.
Now gradually add the milk, stirring well, to get a lump-free mixture.
Get it to a boil and continue to stir the mixtures, it will begin to thicken. Now add the cheese and stir till well blended.
Add the Macaroni to our milk, cheese mixture, and stir well, coating the boiled macaroni.
Pour into a baking dish. Preheat the oven to 400 F, you can sprinkle the top with bread crumbs or some more cheese, however, nothing is really necessary.
My kids had me put more cheese :) If you do not want to bake simply cook on the stovetop to achieve your desired consistency, however baking does enhance the flavors.
Bake for 20-25 mins and let it stand for 5 mins before offering.
Offer to the Lord and enjoy His mercy!
