WE strongly believe in ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ means ‘Treat your guest as god’ Atithi means one who comes without any prior notice or comes suddenly. We have guests, devotees, spiritual family and friends visit us without any prior appointment and we love it that way.
This recipe is a savior on such days when you need a welcome sweet or just when you want to satiate your own cravings :)
This recipe has been adapted from here
I did change quite a few things to come up with my delectable no-bake fudgy brownies.
You will need
1 cup powdered digestive biscuits
3/4 cup (approx) dark chocolate chopped
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/2 cup mixed nuts ( I prefer walnuts or hazelnuts)
1/2 cup butter (melted)
My Husband doesn't eat chocolate or use cocoa so I usually use carob in the ingredients instead as follows
No-Fuss Carob Brownies
You will need
1 cup powdered digestive biscuits
1/2 cup (approx) unsweetened Carob chips
2 TBSP Butterscotch morsels
2 TBSP white chocolate morsels
1/4 cup condensed milk
1/2 cup crushed mixed nuts ( I prefer walnuts and /or hazelnuts)
1/2 cup butter (melted).
Method
The method for both Carob and Cocoa brownies are the same. So let's get started!!
In a pan melt butter and chips/morsels over a low flame, stirring continuously. Make sure the flame is low as the chips can get burnt easily.
You can also use a double boiler method if you are not comfortable with the direct method.
A double boiler consists of a bowl placed on top of a pan of simmering water. The bowl does not touch the water but creates a seal with the bottom pan to trap the steam produced by the simmering water.
Crush the digestive biscuits into a coarse powder.
Now add the crushed nuts and condensed milk. Mix all the ingredients together.
Now grease a square tin and pour in the mixture. Smoothen it and refrigerate till set.
Cut into wedges. Offer to the Lord and enjoy His mercy!!!
